Becoming a Mentor Volunteer
Phoenix Youth at Risk takes pride in thoroughly preparing our mentors for success. In both programs, our mentors are fully prepared with training. Here is an abbreviated look at the steps to becoming a Mentor Volunteer in our programs.
Attend an orientation and complete a mentor application.
Participate in a personal interview with Phoenix Youth at Risk staff.
Complete a background check (fingerprints necessary).
Attend mentor training workshops. (Calendar available at orientation).
New Pathways: Attend a 4-day residential retreat in Prescott, AZ with the youth.

P.A.L.S.: Meet your youth the first time with Program Manager at their home.
