Since 1989, Youth at Risk has transformed the lives of more than 2,600 at-risk youth through mentoring. Youth at Risk is a volunteer-based, nonprofit organization committed to unlocking the futures of at-risk children. Our programs are designed to build self-esteem and leadership skills, increase school attendance and performance, end gang activity and violence and decrease substance abuse. |

Homeless Children Mentoring Positive Adult Leaders in Society (PALS) |

This program provides mentoring for children ages 5 – 15 who are living in transitional (domestic violence or homeless) shelters. Weekly interaction with mentors offers children individual guidance, academic encouragement and positive adult role modeling. |

New Pathways for Teens at Coronado High School |
|
Youth at Risk has brought its teen program directly to Coronado High School. Students participate for four full years working on personal goal setting, youth leadership development and scholastic achievement – all with the support of a mentor. |

Garfield Neighborhood After-School |
|
This program, offered in partnership with Southwest School Partners, provides licensed, daily, after-school child care at our Center. Programming includes homework help, structured activities, a light meal and use of our 12-station networked computer lab.
